Emil Olbrich is currently President at PrimeLime, Trainer at 5G-Courses.com and also VP of Networks with Signals Research Group. Prior to this he was head of LTE research, development, test and evaluation for the Public Safety Communications Research Program where he deployed the first and most diverse Public Safety 700 MHz LTE test lab in the world with over 70 participating vendors and commercial carriers. He was responsible for the specifying, deploying and maintaining the entire ecosystem of LTE which included devices, air interface, transport, radio access network, evolved packet core, IP networking, IMS core and application servers. He also led the team efforts, which include standards work, test case development and test case execution.
Mr. Olbrich has over 20 years of experience in the field of wireless telecommunications. He has worked primarily in R&D at some of the largest telecommunication companies in the world – such as Motorola, Qualcomm and Ericsson. His scope of work includes deploying and operating LTE infrastructure (RAN, EPC and IMS) from numerous Tier 1 vendors; testing new LTE mobile devices from multiple suppliers; testing, deploying and operating some of the first commercial CDMA networks; serving as Lead Project engineer for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics and as the Project Manager for the China Ministry of Information Industry 3G testing in China; and supporting the early development of HDR (EV-DO and EV-DO Rev A).
He has been a speaker at events such as the GSMA Mobile World Congress, LTE North America, 4G World, International Wireless Communications Expo and LTE World Summit. Mr. Olbrich has a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Southern Illinois University.
Marcin Dryjanski received an M.Sc. degree in telecommunications from the Poznan University of Technology in Poland in June 2008. During the past 10 years, Marcin has served as an R&D engineer, lead researcher, R&D consultant, technical trainer, and technical leader. He has extensive experience in the PHY/MAC/RRM/RAN design for systems like LTE/LTE-Advanced/LTE-Advanced Pro and 5G.
From 2008 to 2014, Mr. Dryjanski worked at IS-Wireless where he was responsible for being the architect for software solutions targeting LTE/LTEAdvanced PHY layer and L2/L3 protocol stack design and providing expert level training courses on LTE/LTE-Advanced, SON, radio interface design, MIMO, OFDMA, and Radio and Core Network Protocols. The courses have been provided to the leading mobile operators, vendors, and research institutions all around the world including Saudi Arabia, Chile, the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, and Poland.
Mr. Dryjanski has been involved in 5G design since 2012 when he served as a the work-package leader for EU-funded research projects aiming at radio interface design for 5G including 5GNOW and SOLDER. He co-authored a number of research articles, including in IEEE magazines, targeting 5G radio interface design and LTE-Advanced Pro features.
Since October 2014, he has been serving as an external contractor at Huawei Technologies Sweden AB providing both an algorithm and architectural RAN design for LTE-Advanced Pro and 5G systems working on features like NB-IoT, traffic steering, 5G scheduler design, RAN functional framework, and radio environment maps.
Mr. Dryjanski is a co-founder of Grandmetric, a competence delivery company, heading the field of mobile wireless systems. In this role, he provides consulting services and training courses in the area of 5G-related topics and providing technical insights on the company’s blog.
